Anat received her B. Arch from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 2000. She earned a certificate in Historic Preservation from New York University with honors, and trained in Building Science with Joe Lstiburek, a renowned teacher in the field. Anat is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is registered in New York and New Jersey.  

Growing up in Israel, where archaeological digs were part of the school curriculum, and sustainable design in an inhospitable climate a way of life, sparked a lifelong interest in the historical and environmental context of the structures we inhabit. A trained meteorologist, Anat’s designs are informed by the interplay of space, light, and the environment.    

Anat began her career as a designer and project architect with acclaimed New York metropolitan-area firms working on a broad array of projects ranging in scale and function, including an award-winning supportive housing development for the non-profit Common Ground in the Bronx, the Summit JCC synagogue expansion in Summit, NJ, the renovation and conversion of the Plaza Hotel, and many high-end residential projects in and around New York City.  

Guided by her understanding of environmental and historical context, Anat has applied her expertise to create elegant, light-filled spaces in harmony with their surroundings since founding her practice in 2010. For every project, Anat explores how natural light travels into and around the space, its interaction with the building openings, orientation, and materials, and how all of these impact the wellbeing of residents, consciously and unconsciously.  As Louis Kahn once said, "The sun does not realize how wonderful it is until after a room is made."    

At ASA, every project receives individualized attention. Through communication and collaboration, Anat takes the time to understand her clients' objectives, spatial wish list, aesthetic objectives, and budget. This information helps her formulate a cohesive building plan tailored to her clients' goals. At every phase, Anat engages with her clients, contractors and consultants to ensure their smooth execution and the creation of beauty.
